The problem with my conic section photos was I “Put” the index page but didn’t sync the whole folder. It should work now. Please give my site one more look. I updated the following:

1. I inserted a Back to School Night flyer
2. Fixed Spreadsheet link on Alg 1 page
3. Fixed the Conic Section page and Conic Section link on Alg 2 page to show photos and link to individual photo

Thanks for looking at my site. Here are the updates I’ve done:

You saw I put in a SED 619 header on the home page for links to the template and css directories. You also noticed I applied different css to my three classes. I tried to stay with the same theme (green and gold—MHS school colors).

I put in an embedded photo album on the Conic Sections page with my documents. Also on the Conic Sections page, there is a spry tool tip on the words conic sections.

I put a link on the home page called Map to Moorpark High School that is an embedded interactive map.

I placed anchors on Released Test questions for CAHSEE and CST on home page of Algebra 1 and Algebra 2.

I’m not sure what’s up with the spreadsheet link on the Algebra 1 page. It may be an Apple doc and that’s why we get junk in Internet Explorer. I can’t remember what it looked like in Firefox. I may just make it a link to the xls folder.

I’m hoping to put more material up for Algebra 1 & 2. I have a ton, I just need to put it in folders and link it. I also have a Back to School Night flyer and Open House flyer I did for EED 515. I need to update them and put them in on home page.

Home Stretch...

We are in the home stretch, so I wanted to get you a few comments asap, so you can reflect on them...
I think that was a great idea to add a sidebar for 619 to put the template & css directories. I put them under my help/glossary on my main page, but I like your idea better.

I just did a little looking around...I'll do more tomorrow when I'm not so tired. I saw a bunch of gobbly gook when I clicked on Algebra 1 & spreadsheets & data graph. I can't remember if this is the same one that had a problem or not before...I think you might have moved this.

You are probably in the middle of working on your conic sections because the page comes up, but when I click on an image, I get an error.

I like that you added the google groups...I'll do that too.

I think that is all I have time for right now. I will check back tomorrow or Tues.

You have done an excellent job on your site. I love your spry tabs. I saw you updated them since I was last going to enter in your blog...you cleaned them up nicely.

It was great to show your animations too. I have to figure out how to add them.

I couldn't find your spry tool tip, can you tell me where it is, so I can check it out?

I did some other checking around and got some funny looking text when I went to see your types of graphs xls.

Professional Website Updates

I love all the updates you made for your professional website. I love your banner on your main page and your other pages too. It looks very professional.
I like how you changed the color of your links in your banner to show which are active.

I did get an error when I clicked on Marla Donley...I think it is trying to send email, but this is what it is trying to do...http://www.thealgebraresource.com/mdonleyATmrpkDOTorg
I changed mine to put the AT and DOT, so I probably have the same problem, but I remember Professor Herr saying that we should do that to avoid getting spam in our email, so I think that it's okay.

When I clicked on the Algebra 1 powerpoints, and then Jeopardy, it opens a zip file...is that what it is supposed to do?
I like all the pre algebra documents & pdfs you added...and a ton of documents and pdfs in the Alegbra 1 foundations...that must have taken a long time to add them all. I wish I had that many resource documents.

I love your flash animation. The heart getting bigger & the stars flowing across the screen...and then the rocket...Wow!

I like what you have added to your professional website about the requirements for the available math classes and the links to the school website for the teachers and map. I also like the pacing plan you have. I wish I had one for my classes!!

Did you create the algebra 2 banner? I like it!!

Continue filling in more links as you find information...it's looking better (and more professional!)
I know the content is hard to find...I'm having difficulty finding content of my own and have been looking to the web to help fill in some of my site.

I did notice a few things because I am doing the detailed editors job and I have to find something to say....

Main Page---I like your updates to the main page...it tells more about you. Maybe make your picture a little bigger.
Wow! You added a search this site...very cool!!

Education--Not sure if it's overkill, but you could add links to the credential page where you list your credentials. (eg...link to CSUN admin credential, link to CSUN single subject credential where you list them)

Work Experience--possibly add a link back to the main page of your school where you list in under employment?

Educational philosophy--sound great! Do you have a picture of when you taught? That would go great here.

Hobbies and Interests--I would add your picasa slide show to this page and maybe a picture of you gardening, or just your garden if you have one.

SED 618--you misspelled superimposition on your page.

Editorial Comments--I loved that you added our sites to yours, do you think they should be under a separate heading like Steve has...Cohort sites or something like that...I tried to mirror his.

Overall looks excellent!

Thank you Steve. I'll edit my welcome page with a more personal intro with photos of my family. I took off the resume and made web pages that correspond to he Education and Work Experience. I've added my Ed Philo and hobbies and interest. I like your idea about adding photos of garden, will do.

Marla, after reviewing Janice's site, it's clear that she has set the standard for us to emulate. Our work just isn't up snuff. My advice here is that you should break out every requirement as a page or at least a heading and then fill it with at least a paragraph of content along with related links and images.


Personal Introduction - Who is Marla ? A woman with nine children, a nanny and ...........
Education - I think you covered the edu part well. Perhaps add links / images /maps back to the colleges.

Work Experience - The work experience is there. I think it needs it's own sub heading and then be grouped in a paragraph. Janice went all and added a functional style resume, But you're already employed and it might not be appropriate.

Educational Philosophy - Missing.

Hobbies & Interests - Let hear about that garden . Add some pictures and maybe a Martha Stewart-ish bit of advice from you. A tidbit or tip on how it's done. I liked the info you presented in the Powerpoint.

Photo of you - Done

Photos relevant to your interests, hobbies, etc. (Picasaweb) Missing. This would likely be in the same area as the Hobbies and Interests.
